I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Since that's what I am, that's what I'm going to write about. If you don't like it, I suggest you consider reading something else.
Rules for this blog are:
No politics. Family, work, church, play, or life in general are all fair game; politics is boring.
There will be no coarse language. I'm the supreme judge of coarse language.
There will be no mention of Hummers. Don't ask.
That said, the title of this blog is my mind's take on something President Eyring said in the last General Conference. The children of God come from vastly different backgrounds but have many similarities. When he said that, I began to think about the people from high school I hadn't seen for 10 years who are, for lack of a better word, consisten members of the Church. I recently reconnected with some of them and as I read their blogs, it was almost like reading my wife's blog. We all had the same concerns and many of the same experiences. Only the details were different.
So for those who read this blog and have a similar background to mine, many of the things I write about will sound similar. My life so far has been a lot like a bowl of oatmeal. Pretty plain, but occasionally, you get something fun like a banana, strawberry, or peach. Oatmeal may be plain but it sticks to your ribs.
